Jacobs Creek Shiraz Reserve 2006

Esse é o preferido do Tony...

TASTING NOTE Colour: Deep crimson with dark red hues Bouquet: Lifted aromas of mulberry and blackberry with underlying hints of cloves and anise, balanced by spicy oak notes. Palate: The 2006 Jacobs Creek Reserve Shiraz is a full bodied wine displaying rich fruit flavours of dark berries and plums and velvety tannins. Lovely acid balance and integration of flavours result in a supple and engaging wine with a lingering finish of spice, chocolate and mocha. A true expression of Australian Shiraz, to be enjoyed now or which with careful cellaring will develop gracefully over the next ten years.

The wine is aged in large Slovenian barrels where it remains for 3 and a half years prior to bottling. The ruby red color of this wine tends toward garnet with age. The bouquet displays ample aromas of violet and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich and velvety with balanced fruit, acidity and tannin."

"Also of Etruscan origin it later became a Roman winter encampment. A main centre of the valley, it has a fortress dating back to the 8th century and medieval "palazzi" or residences from the13th century which recall the history of the comunes.
Montepulciano has been called "Pearl of the 1500s" thanks to the numerous works created by famous Renaissance artists. The main square "Piazza Grande" is surrounded by magnificent buildings such as the Palazzo Pubblico, the Cathedral with unfinished faça- de begun in1594 from a designby Ippolito Scalza and several residences by Vignola, Sangallo and Peruzzi. Artistic treasures abound in the many churches in the historical centre and just outside. The most beautiful is the tempie of San Biagio, begun in 1518 by Antonio da Sangallo the elder just outside the town in thedirection of Pienza. "

Nas minhas férias, bebi 6 garrafas desse vinho. Agora que devo voltar lá, pretendo trazer 12!

Vinho Rose
